-She was a member of “Hale O Na Alii O Hawaii”.854 One of the four royal Hawaiian societies. The society was originally founded by King David Kalakaua as the Hale Naua Science Society in 1886 with the purpose of gathering and preserving the knowledge of the alii and kahuna, and to promote the advancement of modern science, art and literature. In 1911 the society was renamed Ka Hale O Na Alii, became inactive and was then re-established in 1918 as Hale O Na Alii O Hawaii. Is a benevolent organization that was founded by Princess Abigail Wahiikaahuula Kawananakoa in 1918. She was the daughter of James Campbell and Abigail Kuaihelani Maipinepine of Lahaina, Maui. Her desire was to establish an association to unite and uphold the morale of the Hawaiian people, their culture, gain a deeper respect for each other and perpetuate Hawaiian heritage. The society is also a response to the disruptive historical periods where Hawaiians were dying in great numbers and the end of life protocols were not being performed. It’s really about honoring those people as they pass and making sure they have proper burials because that was a huge concern right around when a lot of Hawaiians were dying from disease. There weren’t places to bury them. There are protocols that aren’t publicly shared, but need to be perpetuated. (Compilation of an article found on the internet)
Notes for Joseph (Spouse 1)
-Also known as (Luhan)151

-He spoke Hawaiian and was illiterate.  It says that he was married once and that he had been married for 14 yrs.  That would mean he married in Hawaii in 1896.843

-”She mentioned that Tutu would take her to cemeteries when she was young.  When they were at the Kawaiaha'o Church Cemetery, she said that Tutu would point out that her father (Joseph Lujan) was buried over there.  According to mom, she said that he was buried in an unmarked grave "over there under the roadway" (could have been pathway)”. (via Nathan Green who had a conversation w/his mother Rose Green).486

-“I was talking to Skip, when I was in Vegas last month.  I asked him if he knew about Tutu's parents graves and mentioned that mom said that Tutu's father was buried under the roadway.  He said that he heard that story many years ago, maybe from Uncle Joe.  He said the roadway was Queen Street”.508

-“During 1986 Church Archaeologists determined that the burials were not from ancient times, but beyond that nobody knows the circumstances surrounding them. The bones were placed in 102 lauhala boxes, stacked neatly in a brand-new burial vault and recommited unto the Almighty in 1988…this time inside the cemetery. At the corner of Queen and Punchbowl streets”. (via a face to face with Keiko D’Enbeau, Archivist, Kawaiaha’o Church and me)846

-My theory is that he was one of the 102 found and there is no way of knowing for sure without unearthing the bones and doing a DNA test, which will not happen. This is what I’m going with.846
Notes for David Kahikoula (Spouse 2)
-Step-dad to Rose “Tutu” K. Farm869

-Deed Kalauao to Tutu.870

-"Funeral services for David Kaohi, 58, policeman of Aiea, who was killed when he drove his car into a mango114 tree near the highway at Pearl City, will be held today from Silva's Undertaker’s Parlor chapel at 3 o'clock. Burial will be at Kalihi-waena church cemetery.
Apparently dropping off to sleep in the early morning hrs. of the morning, the veteran policeman had driven his car off the road, crashed into a mango tree on Goverment Rd. in Pearl City, where his body was found in the wreckage a few minutes later by a passing motorist.
He was a native of Kalauao, born Aug. 21, 1872, and is survived by two adopted sons, David and William Kaleikau, and a daughter, Mrs. Rose Farm of Ewa."105

-2/22/31 -- Killed driving on Government Road while on patrol duty per Deputy Sheriff Vannatta (Death Certificate).106,856

-William Kaleikau got there to see his body lying on the ground before the sheriff came and took him to Waipahu Hospital. There were 20 or more cops that stood guard over his body at the mortuary. 20 motorcycle cops lead the procession to the cemetery.871

-5/8/31 -- The auto would have been an Oldsmobile police car, because the company to where it was finally disposed of, Schuman Carriage Co., only sold Olds models.114 The vehicle was a total loss and returned to Schmann Carriage Co. The police insurance, in the amount of $1,500 went to his beneficiary, Rose Farm (Probate Records).106,872

-The cemetery is not owned by the church. It is owned by the families. In the old days, the Portuguese lived in the area. The church was a mission and the priests would take the records home with them.66
