-Sjodahl is the original spelling of the name, that is what I am told, and when you look at people from Sweden/Norway (even Denmark) they spell it like that. In fact, they spell it many different ways. I wish I still had the name of the woman I spoke to in Minnesota years ago. She had traced it back to where it was once spelled Sjodahlweisse or Sjodahl-Weisse. Meaning "One who walks in the valley of the midnight sun"... or something to that affect. Sjodahl is Scandinavian, and I think it is primarily Swedish, yet I've seen people in Norway and Denmark with the last name.348
