Princess Sybil was excellent in swimming and diving (as was her younger sister Princess Virginia). She was the first Punahou novice to win the Waterhouse Cup as best all-around female swimmer (1928). She set longstanding school records and in 1930 won the Thurston swimming meet - a substantial achievement in the Hawaiian Islands.
Princess Sybil married William Herbert Schuh 5 July 1934 in San Francisco, CA; they later had one son and one daughter. She was widowed after 42 years of marriage in 1976, and married Donald A Dean the following year; he passed away in 1983. In later years she lived at 155 Royal Drive in Kapaa, Kauai; sometime 1994 - 1998 she married David Thomson Silver, who survived her.
In 1997 the US Government confirmed transfer of some of Queen Liliuokalani's remaining funerary property to granddaughters Ms. Sybil Dominis Silver & her sister Ms. Virginia Dominis Koch as relevant direct lineal descendants of the Queen for purposes of inheritance under 25 U.S.C. 3005 (a)(5)(A)
