Abel Kelii O Nuuanu Makekau was born to Naohulelua & Kumiaiakea of Kailua Kona on the Big Island October 6, 1819. Abel relocated to Lahaina, Maui where he married Kupuna Wahine Mele Kahiwa. The union was blessed with 14 children, Kalanikui, Haliaka, David, Maile, Charles, Kinakaaka, Naohulelua, Samuel, Raymond, Lele, Piehu, Mima, Poni, & Abraham. Tutu Kane lived until October 16, 1907 (88 years), Kupuna Wahine until April 6, 1925 (101 years).
