WALKER,
LEONARD, DOB: 09/13/1922, Born: SAN BERNARDINO
119-Liked motorcycles, specifically an “Indian”. He always greeted people by saying, “Hello Senator”. He was nice & quiet. Always dressed casual with long sleeve shirts and jeans. He owned a hand gun.
747-”I was little, but I remember Leonard, who was a Santa Fe "call boy".......making sure the men got their "calls" to go to work. Leonard was riding a motorcycle, across the River, and was sprayed by the Crop Duster Plane and developed health problems from that incident and died as a result. I have no time-line, on that, since I did not live in Needles at the time he passed away. I was living there, when Leonard remodeled the outside of the house, and put the "new" invention called aluminum siding on it. Hawaiian colors, yellow on the bottom part and dark red around the top part.”
761-”Unless I am badly mistaken Leonard rode a Harley Davidson , and was just as nice of a guy that you would want to meet.”
1043-”I think Leonard was Master of the Mason Lodge. Also He rode a motorcycle We used to swim together at Mansker's pool”.
1044-”I moved next door to Leonard in 1979, wife took care of him the last couple of years before his death. was a very nice man if he liked you. He had family in San Diego and his nephew's took care of everything after he passed”.
1045-”If Jack is remembering Leonard graduating, it was probably from Needles Union High School here in Needles. There should be some photos from the Annuals. Someone on this site will have those copies. You ask about how they looked. Through a child's eyes, I think Mrs. Walker was not very tall and alittle plump, but not heavy. If I remember, she always wore a dress, never slacks. She always seemed quiet, at least, to me. I will look through more photos to see if I have any photos showing their house when they lived there. The house is still there today. If Leonard was a Mason, as Roy remembers, there might be some photos of him with the Lodge. The Lodge burned several years back, in fact, there are photos of it on this site, the Theater Building, but there should be photos in private collections. Maybe someone will post them”.
